Netscape 3.0 Mail Setup |
| Netscape mail is a very easy to use mail program. The following screen shots will show you how to set up your copy of Netscape to send and receive email. The first step is to click on Options, then click on Mail and News Preferences. You will see the following screen. Click on the tab at the top that says Servers, and you will see the following screenshot. |
Important: Do not change your Mail or News Directory these are set by your computer. |

The important fields here are the Outgoing
and Incoming mail servers.
Depending upon your geographical location your Mail server will vary. The username will be the same as your email address. If you are a part of the PIIAI network, your incoming mail server should be set as mail.piiai.net, and your outgoing mail server should remain the same as your current internet provider's SMTP server. Another very important step is the POP3 Username - This should be the same as your email address. (jdoe is used here as an example) It is NOT your email address. |

The information that goes here is pretty self-explanatory. Your Name, Your Email Depending upon your location your e-mail settings
will vary. After you have entered this information, simply click on OK and you will be set to go! Just click on the little envelope in the bottom right-hand corner of the Netscape window and the mail program should come up and retrieve your mail! |
