Netscape Communicator Mail Fix |

In the past, most Internet provider's servers only needed a username to retrieve or send mail, and the servers were set up like wise. Therefore Netscape was set up to strip off anything after the "@" symbol. But due to the increase of Internet users. The "@" symbol can be used to give greater variety to usernames.

From the Desktop, or start up screen, double click on the My Computer Icon. Next, double click on the C: drive icon. In the C: drive you will find the file named Program Files. Once inside of Program Files look for the file named "Users". In the users files you will find a file with your username. |

Once inside of your username folder, find the file named prefs.js. Use your right mouse button on this icon and click on edit, and scroll down to the bottom of the page. At the bottom of the page type in the following, "user_pref("mail.allow_at_sign_in_user_name", true);" Save the file and close the screen. |

Now you are ready to send and receive e-mail using
the "@" symbol in your username.
